Shipping Information

Types of Freight

  • Small Package Freight: Packages weighing less than 150 lbs can be safely transported by a small package carrier (e.g., FedEx).
  • LTL Freight: Less than truckload. Multiple cartons/products shipped that can be consolidated on a pallet, or are too heavy/large to ship effectively via a small-package carrier.
  • Truckload Freight: Multiple pallets or crates of product that require enough space for truckload service. Depending on the number of spaces/pallets, this option could be more affordable than LTL freight.

Small Package Freight

  • FedEx is our carrier for small package shipping. Your small package shipments will ship via FedEx Ground. For expedited shipments, please call 1-855-388-9848 for quotes and options.
  • Pricing is based on a flat rate fee per carton. If you have multiple cartons that are heavier, it may be less expensive and safer to ship via LTL freight. You can contact us at 1-855-388-9848 for more information regarding your order and the best method to use. Please see the FedEx Small Package Freight Rate chart below for small-package flat-rate charges.
  • Shipping time takes 1-5 business days, depending on the distance the package must travel. See the FedEx Estimated Ground Shipping Delivery Time map below.

LTL Freight

  • For larger orders, products that are too heavy/large or unsafe to ship as small packages will ship via LTL freight. GNE will always consolidate your order to maximize your freight savings. However, GNE will prioritize product safety before stacking a pallet to reduce freight costs. Extraordinary delivery requirements may necessitate additional shipping fees. Island, mountain, and rural/remote location deliveries are subject to longer delivery times, additional fees, and possible cancellation outside our delivery zone.
  • Pricing is based on the product's weight, dimensions, class, and shipping address.
  • GNE uses a variety of LTL carriers to better serve your needs. Shipping times can vary based on travel distance and the remoteness of the customer's location. On average, shipping takes 1-7 business days from the pickup date.

Truckload Freight

  • GNE will evaluate the truckload option versus LTL freight if we believe your order can be shipped more cost-effectively.
  • Shipping times can vary based on carrier availability, travel distance, and the remoteness of the customer's location.
  • Truckload rates are based on a quote from our carriers. GNE will seek the most reliable carrier with competitive pricing.

International Shipping

GNE ships products via container, truckload, LTL, or small-package carriers to a variety of international customers and locations. For all orders outside the United States and Canada, please email us at [email protected] or by calling at 1-855-388-9848. Any import duties/or taxes for orders shipped to non-U.S. destinations may be imposed by your local government on shipments from outside your country.

Request a Return

If your product arrives damaged or there is a shortage:

If you receive a damaged package, please have the driver document the damage. Next, contact [email protected] or call 1-866-297-4918 to file a damage claim. Great Northern Equipment is responsible for filing damage claims with the carrier.

Package Shipments

If the carrier detects damage or concealed damage is identified, please call Great Northern Equipment immediately to report it and initiate a claim. Please retain any cartons, packages, or related data until the carrier has completed its inspection. Great Northern Equipment is responsible for filing damage claims with the carrier.

Great Northern Equipment will notify you as to the disposition of the damaged merchandise. Whenever possible, please reuse the original shipping materials and packaging from the product you received.

Truck Freight Shipments

The customer is responsible for carefully examining all shipments before signing a bill of lading or delivery sheet. The customer must note all damage and shortages when signing. If the customer detects any damage or shortage in the shipment, the damage or shortage must be recorded on the bill of lading or the delivery sheet, and the carrier’s driver must sign and acknowledge this record. The customer must retain a copy of the signed bill of lading or delivery sheet and contact [email protected] or call to initiate the claim process immediately. Please DO NOT refuse shipment. This will only delay your credit or the replacement of damaged goods.

If you wish to return a product:

All returns must be pre-approved and assigned a Sales Return Order (SRO) number.

Before you contact us, you will need the following details:

  • Sales Order Number
  • Specific Item(s) you want to return (part # and quantity)
  • Reason for return

Once authorization is approved, you will be given an SRO number. SRO number MUST be marked on the outside of the package.

Conditions:

  • All returns must be pre-approved and include a Sales Return Order (SRO) number from Great Northern Equipment clearly marked on the exterior of the package; otherwise, they will be refused. SRO#s can be obtained by contacting the customer service team at [email protected] or by calling 1-866-297-4918.
  • Part returns. Subject to a minimum 20% restocking fee (could be higher if returned in poor condition). Parts must be in original, unopened packaging, and part numbers must be clearly marked and grouped together. Part returns must be made within 60 days of the original invoice date. Electrical parts such as coils, Regulators, and ECUs are NON-returnable.
  • Power Equipment and Engine returns. Returns for these items must be made within 60 days of the original invoice date, must be in new condition (never gassed, oiled, or engine-mounted), and are subject to a 20% restocking fee. (Percentage could be higher depending on the returned condition).
  • Whole goods returns, including seats, carts, tools, and other products not included above, must be made within 60 days of the original invoice date. Products must be returned in new condition and are subject to a minimum restocking fee of 20% (the percentage may be higher depending on the condition of the returned items).
  • Products sold “As Is” and are non-returnable.
  • Once your item(s) are received, please allow up to 7 business days for processing your return and applying the correct credit amount.
